Breaches here have direct physical consequences. A cooling failure — servers overheat and the cloud collapses. Hacking a UPS — data loss. A supply chain attack — malicious updates spreading to dozens of corporations.
But the hardest hit are people. A hacked portal wipes out exam results. A disrupted exhibition, an automated irrigation system flooding a stadium mid-match, a hijacked gondola lift racing out of control. Businesses lose contracts, residents lose the illusion of reliability: a digital system is only as strong as the real-world impact it can withstand
